Scientific evaluation

From 2022 to 2024, I served a full term as co-President of a French national Research Agency (ANR) committee. Together with a committee of world scientists, we manage the call for all project under the "Software for Telecommunications" umbrella.

Since 2023, I am member of the Inria Starting Faculty Position recruitment commitee at Inria Grand Est. This committee has in charge the recruitment of new researchers for the Inria location in Nancy and Strasbourg.

I am a regular expert for the ANRT agency assessing co-funding requests for industrial-supported Ph.D. progammes.

Academic services

I am currently director of Lorraine INP, the collegium of the Graduate Schools in Science and Engineering at the University of Lorraine. Lorraine INP groups 11 graduate schools and 4 undergraduate programmes, 7000 students and 900 staff members among which 500 faculty.  As director of , I am member of the Board of Trustees of the University (Directoire in french).

Before becoming Director of Lorraine INP, I served for two full terms (2012-2017 & 2017-2022) as Director (Dean) of TELECOM Nancy, the graduate school of Computer Science and Engineering of the University of Lorraine. During my two terms, the graduate school underwent major evolutions, becoming one of the leading and more attractive educational programme in Computer Science in the Grand Est Region and in France.

I was also founder and Scientific Leader of the MADYNES Research team at Inria and University of Lorraine from 2002 to 2019.

Misc

I am an Adjunct Mayor in a small city (or big village :-) in charge of Digital Development and Economic growth.  During the first years of activity, in addition to managing the COVID-crisis at city level, we succeeded in the digital transformation of the three schools enabling all class rooms to be equipped with state-of-the-art equipment fully embraced by the educational teams.  We also managed to maintain the economic ecosystem and employment in the city perimeter.
